peppermints & poppies

where life imitates art

About June 28, 2009

Well, what about me?

I’m Katherine, I’m twenty*cough*something (although soon to be thirty*cough*something) and I live on the brink of a little old mining town in lovely England with the man of my dreams and our tiny baby daughter.

When I’m not avoiding becoming a grown up (and/or being relatively overwhelmed at the reality of being someone’s mum) I like to knit, crochet, procrastinate, take photos, write, sew, bake and generally create.

This blog is about all of the above.

    Hello Katherine,
I’ve just come across your lovely Blog. I’m new to blogging (although for me it should be called “Waffling”) and I don’t have much on mine yet….so little time and sooo much to put on….
Anyhoo I love your crochet work and musings and your little tinkerbell is sooo cute, especially on the photo on her lying on the beautiful baby blanket.
I’m about to launch into a new project with my newly posted wool goodies from E Kemps wool shop in Sunderland…check it out online for some fab bargains on Wendy wool.
I’m trying to decide which circle in a square pattern to use…I have many now saved to my favourites but as I’ve only been crocheting for a year now I’m spoilt for choice…I’m itching to start.
Have you been to Black Sheep Wools in Culcheth ? they do online sales too and are pretty cheap.
Anyway thanks for a lovely read 🙂
    Have a blessed weekend.
    Elaine

    Hi Katherine,

I’m new to crochet and came across your blog looking for granny square patterns. I really love the blanket you made for your daughter (such beautiful choice of colours) and wondered if you could share the pattern?

    Many thanks
    Teresa
